The Nordic swan mark is your guarantee for considerations of safety and environment during the whole life cycle of the bed. There are requirements for everything from the materials to production, use, disposal and recycling. The goal for the swan-marked furniture is always to ensure as long of a lifespan as possible. Apart from that, all beds are tested for durability, safety and stability, and for if they can handle the everyday life and the wear coming from play and use.
Hoppekids beds are made of solid wood, and big part of the wood is FSC-certificated. This means that it comes from sources that are constantly renewed and cared for, so that the tree can be tracked, and the wood workers have had good and proper relations.
The paint, varnish and glue that Hoppekids use are water-based and free of phthalates, fluorine (which can be endocrine-disrupting), as well as cancer-related chemicals. The water-based paint and varnish eliminates the need for the bed to be “aired out” before use. The bed contributes to a healthier inner climate in the kid’s room, because no chemicals are released during use.

Hoppekids BASIC bed system has a lot of possibilities to create exactly the bed your child needs – and if you later want to change the bed model, it is easy to remove or add modules and accessories. It means, for example, that the loft bed that the child loved to make forts in, can become a smart sofa-bed, when the teenage time knocks on the door.
The heart of BASIC is the sofa-bed, and all the other beds are created from it. For example, a loft bed consists of a sofa-bed with a loft module. Think of the bed and the modules as building blocks – if you later want to change the bed to a bunk bed, you can just switch one module out with a different one.
This ensures that the product’s life cycle is prolonged, so you can enjoy your furniture for longer, and that we have the least possible effect on the environment.

Are you worried about the height?
Many parents are worried that the height of the bed will cause problems for the kid and be in the way of bed time and daily activities. With a height of 105 cm, the loft bed is a fine place, because it is high enough so that the child experiences independence and develops motoric by climbing into bed, but the height does not get in the way of, for example, making the bed.
The bed railing and the bed sides have a good height and are very stable. We recommend you use a 9 cm mattress in the bed, because then it fulfils the recommended EU standards.
