The Stegosaurus is easy to spot from a distance, and not just because of its enormous size: the fiery red double row of bony, curved armoured plates on its back is unmistakable. It contrasts beautifully with the yellowish lizard skin. With its head lowered, it trudges across the meadows, always holding its long tail slightly upwards. Its favourite activity is grazing. That's what a stegosaurus does all day, because it takes a while for the 4.5 tonne herbivore to eat enough to keep going. Fancy a bite? Ages 3 and up.
