With its minimalistic, honest and beautiful look – combined with functional details – the Danish design trio VE2 hit right in the heart of Danish design-DNA. In 2016, Zone launched PEILI series. This series is designed in collaboration with the Danish design trio VE2 and is a reinterpretation of the bowl and the dish in a new aesthetic and modern look. The series is built on three simple terms: preparation, serving and storing. The goal is to create the ideal frame for our food – and allow us to enjoy it in a whole new way.
The bowl series PEILI is a stylish modern classic, which is ideal for preparation, serving and storing. The series offers bowls of different heights, so they can be used as bowls or dishes. On top of those bowls there are lids, which could also be used for serving tapas and snacks, for example. The lid can also be used as a tray. Recently, the series was expanded with a bowl with an in-built grater, so you can grate directly into the bowl and use it for serving. There is a bowl with a grater for carrots, beets, celery and more. You can now grate directly into the bowl and set the freshly-grated raw-food salad directly on the table. If your guests or family do not finish all, you just put the lid on and set the rest in the fridge. PEILI series also have bowls with in-built sieve. Zone Denmark wins gold in the world’s biggest design competition
Zone’s design has won many famous international design awards in the last years, after they started collaborating with more Danish designers. This happens as a result of a new brand strategy, where the 20-year-old, well-known Zone design has gone through a total revitalization, which lives up to the modern consumer’s lifestyle and need. Restructure receives many positive reactions both nationally and internationally – we experience a new, modern and time-appropriate brand. PEILI series from Zone has already won 3 design prizes: the prize for the most innovative product for the international Les Découtvertes Maison & Objet fair in Paris, audience prize in Formland design fair in Herning and last but not least – Red Dot Design Award 2016. The last, Red Dot Design Award, is the world’s biggest design competition, which is held every year in Germany. Zone came in first here. This competition has a jury, consisting of 41 members from the world’s design league. Zone got this amazing result because of their simple and functional design, and the series has since been expanded with new sizes and more colours. NOVA ONE series from Zone is created in collaboration with Danish Thomas Dudzinski, who works with an honest and simple approach to design. Thomas Dudzinski has graduated from the Architecture school in Aarhus with a master’s degree in design. Since 2013 he has been operating his own design agency with a big success, where he focuses on product, furniture and interior design. Thomas Dudzinski has created the whole NOVA ONE series, which portrays the minimalistic, honest and characteristic look in the Danish design traditions.
